FRIENDS AND FAMILY "GOT TO GIVE A
LITTLE LOVE."
Ziggy's Song Inspires
"Mompreneur's" New Line
Santa Clarita, CA, January 30, 2007 - You can
hear the collective nagging from any suburban
neighborhood loud and clear: "Make your bed! Feed
the dog! Finish your homework.. now!" And, from
those same neighborhoods, there's a collective
sigh from brand new moms complaining of
sleep-deprivation and overwhelm. It's quieter, but
no less palpable. Author, mother-of-twins and
self-described "mompreneur," Victoria
Loveland-Coen, has been there and wondered if
there wasn't a better way to relieve a mother's
overwhelm, frustration and exhaustion... and maybe
even get kids to be more cooperative. So, she and
biz partner Sarah Myers created a cute coupon book
that works like a "ticket economy" rewarding a
child's cooperative behavior. Other coupon gift
booklets in the line give friends and family an
opportunity to offer their encouragement, love and
a helping hand to a new or expectant mom. "They're
really a 'collection of kindnesses' that suggest
what might be needed," Loveland-Coen explains.
The name for their line, Give A Little
Love was inspired by the song of the same
name Ziggy Marley made famous in the '80's, which
goes, "You've got to give a little love, have a
little hope, make this world a little better.only
if we try." Loveland-Coen couldn't agree more, and
she wants to make sure that this love and support
from friends and family starts from day one... even
before. That's why two books in the line are for
Expectant Moms and New Mommies. "Research shows
that mothers who feel nurtured and are generally
happy, make better moms. And their children tend
to be smarter and better adjusted," she states.
But, perhaps the booklet that will be most in
demand is their "You've Earned It Kid!: A
Positive Reward System for Children.
Loveland-Coen and Myers (mother of three) have
discovered that tangibly rewarding the small steps
towards cooperative behavior is much less
frustrating, and less stressful, than nagging,
yelling and punishing. "We as parents must spend
more time focusing on the positive, rather than
enhancing the negative conduct of our kids," Myers
says.
The line also includes a coupon gift book for
children, four and up, as a way of expressing their love and kindness by helping mom
around the house and giving parents a day free
from screaming or fighting with siblings. Imagine
that!
The Give A Little Love line from their
company Love & Blessings LLC, will be
available the end of February at fine bookstores
everywhere, and also on her website, www.loveblessings.com.
The website is also a good resource for positive
parenting information.
